Johannisberg Riesling

Johannisberg Riesling is named for a wine region and grape variety, both hailing from Germany. However, the term has since been retired by the United States’ TTB. Today, these wines will simply be labeled Riesling or White Riesling, however, old bottles lurking around wine lists and in wine shop cellars may still depict this labelling. Wines dubbed Johannisberg Riesling may be sweet or dry, and are likely packed with a good amount of fruit flavors and steely acidity.
