Verdicchio is a popular white grape variety cultivated in central Italy. The grape gets its name from the green-hued wines it produces. Verdicchio is the backbone to many wines of the Marche wines, including still, sparkling, and sweet (straw wine) formats. Verdicchio is known for its high acidity and flavors of citrus, peach, and almond. The grape is frequently confused with the Trebbiano and Greco varieties.
