Chenin Blanc

Chenin Blanc is a white grape native to the Loire Valley, where it is known as Pineau de la Loire. The grape is marked by high levels of acidity, making it ideal for sparkling and dessert wine production. Chenin Blanc-based wines span the entire flavor and style spectrum, from bone dry to sweet. The grape is also widely planted in South Africa, where it is called Steen. Chenin Blanc often shows flavors of green apple, quince, and honey, and can be age-worthy.
