Port Blend

Although up to eighty different grape varieties are permitted, the five most commonly used grapes in Port blends are Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz (known as Tempranillo in Spain), Tinta Barroca, and Tinta Cão. Most vineyards in the Douro are co-planted to these varieties as field blends. Touriga Nacional is dubbed the best quality Port variety, known for its fine balance between structure, acid, and tannins.
