Garganega

Garganega is a white grape variety native to the Veneto region of Italy. It is widely cultivated in the areas around Verona and Vicenza, and most notably, is the backbone to Italy’s renowned Soave wines, where it must compose a minimum of 70% of the blend. Garganega shows flavors of stone fruit, citrus, and salt, and is marked by a noticeably tangy acidity, which also renders the fruit ideal for sweet recioto wine production.
