Nebbiolo

Lovers of Barolo and Barbaresco are no stranger to Nebbiolo. This dark-skinned grape variety is known for producing wines with boisterous tannins and ripping levels of acidity, making high-quality examples suitable for aging. The grape derives its name from the Italian word nebbia, meaning fog. Nebbiolo is one of the first grapes to bud and last to ripen in Piedmont, and wines produced from it show prominent aromas of cherries, rose petals, tobacco, and tar.
