Originally from the Nemea region of Greece, Agiorgitiko is one of that country’s most versatile red varieties. The grape’s behavior depends on where it is grown; it can be soft and approachable or extremely tannic and robust. Agiorgitiko is known for its spicy flavors of red plums, as well as its moderate to low levels of acidity. It has recently surpassed Xinomavro as the most widely planted red grape in Greece.
