Negroamaro

Negroamaro is an Italian red grape variety that is mostly cultivated in Puglia, specifically within the Salento region. Wines produced from the grape are usually dark hued and rustic, marked by earthy notes of black fruits, plums, and dried herbs. Negroamaro is high-yielding and fares well in warm weather areas. The grape gets its name from the local words for black (negro) and bitter (amaro), which pay homage to the style of the final wines that it produces.
