Each Monday, we publish a round-up of the most compelling flash sales offers for the coming week. Given the diversity of our audience across all ages, preferences, and budgets, know that some of these bottles might not quite float your boat, or might not be the right price. But all of our choices represent genuine value and hard-to-match opportunities in their own categories.

This week delivers some red wines from unexpected places and unexpected varieties — Pinot Noir from Germany on Tuesday, and on Wednesday, Grenache from the Italian island of Sardinia. Or, if iconic regions are your thing, it’s also a week where you can score a 1996 Barolo or a coveted Grand Cru Burgundy.

Keep an eye out each week for our top picks.

bottle of 2018 Antiche Terre Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG

2018 Antiche Terre Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, $26.95

Why we chose it: Amarone strikes a delightful midpoint between bold, fruit-forward reds and more earthy, spicy ones. Grown near Verona in northern Italy, these grapes are air-dried to concentrate the flavors and amplify the intensity of the wine, while preserving the acidity and brightness that this cooler region generates.

Where to get it: Wine Express, available July 4, 2022 at 9 a.m. ET until sold out

bottle of 2019 Cune Ecológico Tempranillo

2019 Cune Ecológico Organic, $12

Why we chose it: Hailing from one of the most respected producers in all of Rioja, Spain, this is an organic red that blends Garnacha, Tempranillo, and Graciano. Focused on bright and fresh fruit notes, it’s fermented in stainless steel tanks to emphasize the red cherry, strawberry, and raspberry notes that make this a delightful everyday sipper — and an incredible value.

Where to get it: Organic Wine Exchange, available July 4, 2022 at 7 a.m. PT until sold out or July 11, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. PT

bottle of 2021 Château Routas Coteaux Varois en Provence Rosé

2021 Château Routas Coteaux Varois en Provence Rosé, $19.95

Why we chose it: To many, Provence is still the home of the world’s best rosés, combining a long tradition of production with an ideal climate of hot days and cooler nights, especially in the hills above the iconic beaches. In this bottle, Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon meld to produce a refreshing wine with notes of strawberry, grapefruit, and peach, as well as slight floral aromas.

bottle of 1996 Fontanafredda La Villa Barolo

1996 Fontanafredda La Villa Barolo, $85

Why we chose it: Barolo, from the Piedmont region in northwestern Italy, is prized for its ability to age for decades. Here you have a bottle with more than 25 years of age on it, coming from an estate that was founded by the first King of Italy and has been producing Barolo for almost 150 years. How often do you get to drink a piece of history like that?

Where to get it: SommSelect, available July 4, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. PT until sold out

bottle of 2019 Fitz-Ritter Pfalz Pinot Noir

2019 Fitz-Ritter Pfalz Pinot Noir, $30

Why we chose it: Pinot Noir might not be the first variety you think of when you think of Germany, but the country is producing more and more of it each year, as conditions become more amenable to red wine production. This bottle, hailing from the Pfalz region near the French border, could easily be mistaken for a Burgundian or Alsatian bottling, with delicate aromas and flavors of tart cherry and raspberry and hints of turned earth and dried leaves.

Where to get it: SommSelect, available July 5, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. PT until sold out

bottle of 2020 Pala Cannonau Centosere

2020 Pala Cannonau Centosere, $16

Why we chose it: Better known as Grenache, Cannonau is also widely grown on the Italian island of Sardinia, where it produces an elegant, lighter-bodied red wine that is vaguely reminiscent of Pinot Noir. Here, you get an organic expression that offers ripe red fruits and hints of spice and dried earth.

Where to get it: Organic Wine Exchange, available July 6, 2022 at 7 a.m. PT until sold out or July 13, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. PT

Note: The pricing for this offer goes live on the day and time specified.

bottle of 2017 Keeler “Heart” Pinot Noir

2017 Keeler “Heart” Pinot Noir, $19

Why we chose it: Biodynamically produced in Oregon’s Eola-Amity Hills sub-AVA within the Willamette Valley, this is an elegant example of the region’s Pinot Noirs. The winemaking includes aging in both concrete and terracotta, and the resultant wine is lively, with aromas of pine needles and morel mushroom and flavors of red cherry, tart raspberry, and cola.

Where to get it: Organic Wine Exchange, available July 7, 2022 at 7 a.m. PT until sold out or July 14, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. PT

bottle of 2014 Philippe Foreau Vouvray Brut

2014 Philippe Foreau Vouvray Brut, $45

Why we chose it: Most wine lovers know Vouvray, in France’s Loire Valley, for its still wines made from Chenin Blanc. Yet Chenin Blanc can also be made as a traditional-method sparkler, and none do it better than Philippe Foreau, who ages the wine for years before disgorging it and releasing it. The wine is reminiscent of vintage Champagne but the use of Chenin Blanc gives it more of a ripe apple and pear note, as well as hints of chamomile and honey. This is a pre-offer, with the wines set to arrive by the end of July.

Where to get it: SommSelect, available July 7, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. PT until sold out

Note: This is a pre-offer, arriving in 7-10 days

bottle of 2019 Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur Grand Cru Richebourg

2019 Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur Grand Cru Richebourg, $675

Why we chose it: Burgundy lovers know that Richebourg, in the iconic village of Vosne-Romanée, is perhaps the pinnacle of Grand Cru vineyards in the entire region. Due to the tightly wound nature of this wine and its relative youth, this is a bottle to cellar for a number of years, if not a decade. The quality of the vineyard site and producer will become apparent with time.

Where to get it: SommSelect, available July 10, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. PT until sold out
