Each Monday, we publish a roundup of the most compelling flash sales offers for the coming week. Not every bottle will float your boat, or suit your budget. But all of our choices represent genuine value and hard-to-match opportunities in their own categories.

This is the week for those who want to supplement or expand their everyday drinking options, as there are quite a few bottles at very affordable prices on offer, like a biodynamic Grenache from Spain on Monday, an Alsatian Edelzwicker on Tuesday, and an Australian Cabernet Sauvignon-Shiraz blend on Thursday. We’re also excited about Friday’s Kékfrankos from Hungary, one of the more intriguing red varieties in Europe.

bottle of 2020 Château Crémade Palette Rosé

2020 Château Crémade Palette Rosé, $40

Why we chose it: Palette is one of the more prized appellations within Provence, and is justifiably famous for its rosé wines. The wines at Château Crémade are made from a large number of varieties that have a long history in the region. They range from the well-known (Grenache, Syrah) to the fairly obscure (Durif, Tibouren), but the intention in making this wine is to produce a rosé that offers a complexity and depth of flavor that is rare in the category.

Where to get it: SommSelect, available July 18, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. PT until sold out

Why we chose it: This is something of an unusual wine for Napa Valley, as it’s made from 61% Petit Verdot, giving it hints of wild herbs and bitter chocolate along with black currant and dark berries. Named for the two founders of the winery, it’s a sleek and seductive bottle that offers a lot of flavor and aroma for a very reasonable price.

bottle of 2020 Maison Robert Olivier Edelzwicker Blanc

2020 Maison Robert Olivier Edelzwicker, $16

Why we chose it: Bottles like this Edelzwicker are a great opportunity to get exposed to the fantastic white wines of France’s mountainous Alsace region. While many of the wines produced there are single-varietal bottlings, Edelzwickers are blends of a number of different varieties, in this case Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Sylvaner, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, and Muscat, which gives the wine a floral brightness to go along with notes of crisp apple, pear, peach, almond, and honey.

Where to get it: Organic Wine Exchange, available July 19, 2022 at 7 a.m. PT until sold out or July 26, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. PT

bottle of 2013 Bodegas Riojanas Vina Albina Gran Reserva Rioja

2013 Bodegas Riojanas Viña Albina Gran Reserva Rioja, $29.99

Why we chose it: This is a classic expression of Tempranillo from the Spanish region of Rioja, with a bit of Mazuelo and Graciano blended in as well, and then matured for a number of years in barrels of varying ages. The wine offers a mix of red fruits like cherry and cranberry, notes of vanilla and coconut, and a finish that lingers.

bottle of 2019 Heimann & Fiai Bati Kereszt Szekszárd Kékfrankos

2019 Heimann & Fiai Bati Kereszt Szekszárd Kékfrankos, $35

Why we chose it: Whether you call it Kékfrankos as in Hungary (where this wine hails from), Blaufränkisch as in neighboring Austria, or Lemberger as in Germany, this grape variety delivers some of the most exciting and dynamic medium-weight red wines in Europe. They are alluringly aromatic with notes of pine needles, juniper, and dried leaves and have a fruit profile that tends towards mulberry, tart raspberry, and sour cherry, along with elegant, structured tannins.

Domaine des Baumard is run by the father-and-son team of Jean and Florent, who have produced this intensely savory expression which offers button mushroom, and hints of smoke along with a note of golden apple and pineapple.

bottle of 2012 Château Saint Martial Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

2012 Château Saint Martial Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, $35

Why we chose it: Like most Saint-Émilions, this is a majority Merlot wine blended with a bit of Cabernet Franc. Owned by the family since 1792, Château Saint Martial produces relatively small quantities of wine for Bordeaux, meaning that these bottles are hard to find here in the US, especially well-aged like this 2012, which is ready to drink but could easily stand up to a few more years aging should you prefer.

Where to get it: SommSelect, available July 24, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. PT until sold out
