Each Monday, we publish a round-up of the most compelling flash sales offers for the coming week. Given the diversity of our audience across all ages, preferences, and budgets, know that some of these bottles might not quite float your boat, or might not be the right price. But all of our choices represent genuine value and hard-to-match opportunities in their own categories.

This week’s offerings present a chance to grab some wines perfect for the season, from a fresh Tuscan white wine and a vibrant French Sauvignon Blanc on Monday to an esoteric and fairly obscure Alpine white on Thursday. There’s stuff here for collectors as well, like Monday’s Second Growth Bordeaux and Wednesday’s Hermitage Rouge, but it’s definitely a week for exploration and experimentation.

Keep an eye out each week for our top picks.

bottle of 2018 Château Leoville Poyferre

2018 Château Leoville Poyferre, $159.95

Why we chose it: This wine, a Second Growth Bordeaux from the village of St. Julien, is a points magnet, earning 100 points from Jeb Dunnuck and 97 points each from Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, and James Suckling. The Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend offers rich cherry and plum notes, chocolate, and baking spice, and could be a long-lived bottle should you choose to age it.

bottle of 2021 Guado Al Tasso Vermentino di Bolgheri

2021 Guado Al Tasso Vermentino di Bolgheri, $24.95

Why we chose it: This Tuscan white wine comes from one of the region’s most acclaimed producers, the Antinori family, from vineyards just a bit inland from the Ligurian Sea, giving the wine a mix of bright citrus and floral notes with a hint of saltiness on the finish — making it a delightful summertime sipper.

bottle of Corty Artisan Intro Pouilly Fumé

2020 Corty Artisan Intro Pouilly-Fumé, $34

Why we chose it: The village of Pouilly-Fumé, located in the eastern portion of France’s Loire Valley, is similar in approach and quality to Sancerre, and is positioned just across the Loire River from Sancerre. Here, 14th-generation winemakers Arnaud and Julien Moreux blend Sauvignon Blanc from several different soil types to produce this taut, citrus-laden expression of the variety.

Where to get it: SommSelect, available July 11, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. PT until sold out

bottle of 2018 Domaine J.M.B Sorrel Le Vignon Hermitage Rouge

2018 Domaine J.M.B. Sorrel Le Vignon Hermitage Rouge, $85

Why we chose it: The hill of Hermitage in France’s northern Rhône Valley is perhaps the single most acclaimed site for Syrah in the entire world. Here, three brothers tend to a small family plot of vines and produce only a single red and a single white wine each year, fermenting the wines with native yeasts and aging them in used oak barrels. The result is a refined wine that combines notes of blackberry and cherry with hints of black pepper, dark chocolate, and sage.

Where to get it: SommSelect, available July 13, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. PT until sold out

bottle of 2020 Ermes Pavese Vallée d'Aoste Blanc de Morgex

2020 Ermes Pavese Vallée d'Aoste Blanc de Morgex, $40

Why we chose it: Here’s a wine that’s a mystery in a bottle. Is it French or is it Italian? Well, it comes from a region that’s technically in Italy, but where most of the locals speak French. It’s made from an obscure native variety called Prié Blanc, and as befits its Alpine setting at the foot of Mont Blanc, it’s a crisp, restrained, and mineral-laden white that’s as pure as a mountain stream thanks to organic cultivation in some of the highest-elevation vineyards in Europe, at nearly 4,000 feet.

Where to get it: SommSelect, available July 14, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. PT until sold out

Friday, July 15

bottle of Garmón Ribera del Duero

2018 Garmón Ribera del Duero, $59

Why we chose it: Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero tends to be a bit bolder and more full-bodied than the expressions you’ll find in Rioja, but here’s a bottling that effortlessly balances those tendencies with freshness and vibrancy, thanks in no part to the organically and biodynamically farmed fruit that goes into it, the cooler vintage in 2018, and a judicious use of oak, attributes which earned it a whopping 98 points from Decanter.

Where to get it: SommSelect, available July 15, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. PT until sold out
