Wine Bottles On Sale

Each Monday, we publish a round-up of the most compelling flash sales offers for the coming week. Given the diversity of our audience across all ages, preferences, and budgets, know that some of these bottles might not quite float your boat, or might not be the right price. But all of our choices represent genuine value and hard-to-match opportunities in their own categories.

This week offers some great opportunities to explore lesser-known regions that are producing absolutely stunning wine, like Australia’s Margaret River and Spain’s Jumilla, plus a quartet of nicely-aged bottles of wine from iconic French and Italian regions. If you forced us to grab just two bottles, we’d snag a bottle of the Ego Bodegas Goru 18M Jumilla, available from Wine Express on Monday, Feb. 7, and splurge on the 2006 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape, available from Wine Access on Sunday, Feb. 13.

Keep an eye out each week for our top picks.

2016 Ego Bodegas Goru 18M Jumilla, $29.95

Who’s it for: Old vine freaks. Jumilla, in southeastern Spain, has a wealth of older vines, in particular Monastrell — which you probably know as Mourvèdre — which here means 50-year-old vines at high elevations, 2800 feet, allowing this sun-loving variety to produce a wine that offers a mix of dark berry fruit, bitter chocolate, and blood orange while still being acid-forward and food-friendly.

Where to get it: Wine Express, available Feb. 7, 2022 at 9 a.m. ET until sold out

2011 Vieux Château Mazerat Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, $59

Who’s it for: Impatient types. Let’s be honest, sometimes it’s annoying to buy wine and be told that you have to wait a decade or more to enjoy it. Fortunately, this bottle from one of Bordeaux’s most iconic appellations and helmed by one of its most awarded winemaking teams, JCP Maltus, is definitely ready to drink, with a solid ten years of aging bringing this Merlot-dominant blend to life.

2015 Château Simone Palette Blanc, $68

Who’s it for: The white wine lover who needs to get out of their rut. Let’s be honest, have you even heard of Clairette, let alone drank a wine based on it? This is truly one of the great wines of Southern France, even if it does come from a region better known for rosé than for white wine. Rounded out with Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc, and Ugni Blanc, it’s a rich, textural, and aromatic white wine that will definitely give you lots to talk about.

2018 Lange Estate Freedom Hill Pinot Noir, $50

Who’s it for: Single-vineyard nerds. Freedom Hill Vineyard, first planted in 1982, is located in the foothills of Oregon’s coastal range, near the western edge of the Willamette Valley, and has long been one of the most prized single-vineyard sources in the entire valley. Lange has been at the forefront of Oregon Pinot Noir since their own founding in the late 1980s, and this is a great opportunity to taste two pillars of the region in one bottle.

2020 Château Beauregard Ducasse Graves Blanc, $14

Who’s it for: Those who’ve already got their spring pastels laid out. We’ve extolled the virtues of white Bordeaux in this space before, and while it’s certainly a fine white wine to enjoy year-round, it really shines in the springtime when paired with fresh green vegetables like miner’s lettuce and peas, as well as fresh cheeses like chèvre.
