Hawkes Bay

Hawke’s Bay is the oldest and second largest wine-producing region in New Zealand. It is located on the east coast of the North Island and accounts for just over 10% of the country’s annual production. Chardonnay and Merlot are the two most widely planted grape varieties, though Hawke’s Bay has become globally renowned for its Syrah. Popular sub-regions include Gimblett Gravels, Te Mata, and Bridge Pa Triangle.
